Frequently asked questions about SPV, e-Factura and alerts

The questions we are asked most, answered briefly. If yours is not here, write to us — we add them.

SPV and e-Factura

Does SPV notify me when an invoice arrives?

No. Romania’s Private Virtual Space sends no email and no notification when a new document appears — you have to log in and look. That gap is what Alerte SPV fills: we check for you and write to you the day the document shows up.

What is e-Factura and who does it apply to?

e-Factura is the system through which invoices between companies travel via ANAF rather than directly between partners. Since 2024 it is mandatory for all B2B transactions in Romania, and an invoice counts as delivered the moment it reaches SPV — not when the supplier emails you a copy.

What happens if I miss an invoice in SPV?

Deadlines run from the moment the document reached SPV, not from the moment you saw it. That means VAT deductions lost on invoices nobody noticed, appeals filed after the deadline, and — when ANAF reports a transmission error — an invoice that does not count as sent at all.

What appears in SPV besides invoices?

Invoices received, invoices sent, and the error reports for invoices ANAF rejected. General messages — summonses, tax decisions, notifications — arrive there too, but they are a separate category which we do not monitor at the moment.

How Alerte SPV works

How do you find out a new invoice has arrived?

We query ANAF’s official API for every monitored tax id, at your plan’s interval — hourly on the larger plans, once a day on the smaller ones. When a document we have not seen before appears, we store it and send the alert in that same check.

How quickly do I get the alert?

Within the hour on Platinum and Accountant, every six hours on Gold, once a day on Free and Silver. The alert goes out at the end of the check that found the document, not at a fixed hour of the day.

Do I get an email for every invoice?

No. The first new document in a check triggers an immediate alert, and everything else found in the same check is folded into one digest. Forty emails for forty invoices is how an alerting product teaches its users to ignore it.

Can I get the alerts on my phone?

Yes, through browser push notifications, on the plans that include them. Push is an addition to the email and never a replacement: a notification is dismissed with a thumb and leaves no trace, while the email is what proves you were told.

Can the alerts go to my accountant too?

Yes. Each company can have extra recipients, and every one of them confirms through a link before anything is sent. How many depends on the plan, from none on Free to unlimited on Platinum and Accountant.

Access, certificate and security

Do I need a digital certificate to use the service?

Yes, once, when connecting. ANAF allows access to SPV only with a qualified digital certificate, and the authorisation happens in your own browser, on a computer with the USB token plugged in. That is ANAF’s requirement, and it applies to any application that reads SPV.

Can I authorise from my phone?

The authorisation step, no — a phone cannot read the USB token. Everything after it works anywhere, including receiving alerts on your phone.

Do you see the contents of my invoices?

We read the message list from SPV, and on plans with an archive we also download the invoice XML so you do not have to go in for it. The files live on private storage reachable only from your account, and are deleted automatically when your plan’s retention expires.

What happens to my ANAF authorisation?

It is stored encrypted, with a key separate from the application’s own, and can be revoked with one button. On disconnect we destroy the tokens immediately and ask ANAF to revoke the authorisation, and monitoring stops at once.

How long does the authorisation last?

ANAF caps authorisations at one year. Thirty days before expiry we start sending reminders so the alerts do not stop without warning; renewing takes a minute but needs the USB token again.

Plans, price and account

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free monitors a single tax id, with one check a day and email alerts, with no card and no time limit. It is enough for a small company, and the paid limits start from there.

How is the price calculated if I have several companies?

The price follows how many tax ids you monitor at once and how quickly you want to know: 1 on Free and Silver, 5 on Gold, 25 on Platinum and from 50 on the Accountant plan. A single ANAF authorisation can cover every company you administer with the same certificate.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Cancelling stops the renewal, the subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and the account then moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, and the archive stays within the free plan’s limits.

Are you affiliated with ANAF?

No. Alerte SPV is a private service operated by WEB LOFT S.R.L. that connects to SPV solely with your authorisation, over OAuth. We have no contractual relationship with ANAF and do not speak on their behalf.

Would rather not check SPV by hand?

We email you the day a new document appears, for every company you follow. One tax id, free, no card.
